At Green Gadgets, we’re strict about how we handle personal information. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, store, use and disclose personal information. It also confirms our obligations under the Privacy Act 1993.

The personal information we collect

We collect information relating to you that you have provided to us (for example, through the way you purchase our products, on an application or registration form, when you enter a competition or promotion sponsored by us) or that we may have obtained from another source (such as our suppliers). This information may include, your name, address, telephone numbers, email address.  

How we collect and store personal information

We collect the personal information of individuals directly from those individuals when selling products to those individuals, as well as from our business partners, distributors or referrers, agents, or service providers who sell or who are involved with selling the products. We also collect personal information directly from an individual when the individual purchases our products.

Data Analytics

Green Gadgets use cookies or similar technologies to analyse trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our website or service.

Purposes

There may be times when we need to disclose your personal information to third parties (some of which may be based outside of New Zealand). If we do this, we will only disclose your information for the purposes of:

• providing the product for an individual;
• handling inquiries about the product;
• security checks to verify the identity of an individual;
• administering warranty claims;
• handling complaints;

We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received. Access to personal information

You have the right to access personal information about you if we hold that personal information in a way that it can be readily retrieved, subject to some exceptions provided at law.

We will not be able to provide personal information if:

• we do not know or don’t have reasonable grounds to believe it is personal information about you, or
• if disclosing the information would involve the unwarranted disclosure of the affairs of another individual.

You can request correction or amendment of the information held by us at any time. If it is reasonable in the circumstances for us to do so, we will make the requested change or correction, otherwise we’ll take reasonable steps to mark that information as having been subject to a change or correction request. 

Direct marketing communications

We may send you direct marketing messages and information about the below:

Our products, services, discounts, competitions and special promotions that may be of interest to you.  Offers or promotions based on how you use our products and services. Other companies' products and services (including offers and discounts we’ve arranged for our customers) we think may interest you, if you’ve chosen to receive this information. 

This marketing material may be sent by various methods. This includes but is not limited to, telephone, post, fax and any form of electronic message (including, but not limited to, email, SMS, MMS, PXT or Video PXT).

You consent to us sending you marketing material by any of those methods. If you indicate a preferred method of communication, we will try to use that method when practical.

Also, at any time you may opt-out of receiving marketing material from us by contacting us. Or you can use any opt-out method provided in the material. We’ll make sure your name is taken off our mailing list.

Complaints

An individual may make a complaint in writing about how their personal information has been dealt with by explaining the nature of the complaint and providing sufficient information to enable us to provide this to our Privacy Officer.
